. The Short 40 description used in SAP would be created using abbreviations for only the key attributes, whereas the more descriptive field required on a purchase order can be created without abbreviations and using complete labelled descriptions of all attributes.
Moreover, a single set of item data is used to create all the necessary translations of descriptions into the local languages of your customers and staff who need to find, understand and work with these items in their own language.
