- New web-site launched to great acclaim, already in the running for several design awards.
- Selected by Entec International to provide automated purchase order matching for major brewing company in USA. Custom development delivered within 3 weeks, increasing compliance and reducing volume sensitivity.
- sparesFinder enter into strategic partnership with Oniqua who will use Masterpiece to support their clients in the mining industry in Australia, Asia and the USA.
- Selected in highly competitive tender to deliver data cleaning and governance project for Oil & Gas major in Indonesia.
- Partnership agreement signed with PT Mitrais. Training in Bali proves popular with staff!
- Leading European spares distributor, Brammer plc select sparesFinder to improve efficiency of spares integration through better data alignment, handling >3,000,000 of Brammer's catalogue items.
- Completed delivery of spare parts data cleaning project to support Oracle (JDE) upgrade for USA based food manufacturer with 30 plants. Part of Accenture-led project to reduce indirect spend across the corporation.
2009
- sparesFinder continue to grow and post record profits, despite the global recession.
- Close major project (>500,000 lines of legacy data) in partnership with KPMG to support PDM project implementation for Oil & Gas equipment supplier based in Houston, USA.
- Chosen as European partner by Accenture to provide support their MDM business operations.
- Global pharmaceutical company selects sparesFinder to provide data cleaning for UK production sites. Project success leads to global roll out and purchase of Gatekeeper, Insight and VPI applications.
- sparesFinder acquire EMIC Consultants, bringing their consulting knowledge and stock modelling software into the company.
- Gatekeeper upgrade improves MDM functionality, allowing application to manage the creation and synchronisation of data across multiple ERP systems.
2008
- Masterpiece Version 3 is released to first customer based in China, following extensive development programme.
- Close major project (>500,000 lines of legacy data) in partnership with KPMG to support PDM project implementation for Oil & Gas equipment supplier based in Houston, USA.
- Gatekeeper is used by petrochemical plant in Saudi Arabia to manage data collection for materials during plant construction. Automated integration of all required fields to SAP established.
- Tubetrak is enhanced to support full inventory management for OCTG reclamation service for Oil & Gas major.
2007
- Selected by global building products group to provide Masterpiece and data cleaning services to support global roll-out of JD Edwards. Project starts with the UK and France and expanding worldwide to China, North America, North Africa, the Middle East & India.
- Form partnership with Marubeni Itochu to develop a comprehensive supply chain management application for the tubular industry, Tubetrak.
2006
- sparesFinder support Corporate Express in one of the first multi language implementations of SAP's MDM system, conducting a data cleaning project in 12 languages, whilst delivering on tight deadlines to develop integration web services.
- Insight reporting is extended to cover analysis of invoice and spend data, with first implementation aggregating spend in many currencies across 8 countries.

The AspenTech Award is given as part of an international awards programme run annually by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE). The sparesFinder entry was its innovative web-based service which lets companies optimise the quantities of engineering spare parts they hold, and where they hold them.

10-12 July 2011 - The sparesFinder Cycle Challenge

In early July 2011, four members of the management team at sparesFinder will join 10,000 others in attempting one of the hardest amateur cycling challenges, the Étape du Tour de Mondovélo, in order to raise money for the mental health charity Mind.
We still know so little about how our minds work and why, sometimes, they choose not to. Mind helps people take control of their mental health by providing high-quality information and advice, and campaigning to promote and protect good mental health for everyone.
Our riders have all had personal experience of friends or relatives with mental health problems and know how devastating it can be. We want to do what we can to make a difference and hope you will be able to help us. Please follow the link to our Facebook page for more details.

- sparesFinder receives certification from SAP for Masterpiece to be Powered by SAP NetWeaver.
- sparesFinder wins the best small business prize in the National Business Awards 2005 award for South East and wins the CBI International Achievement Awards and International Business Awards.
2004
- The company continued to show significant financial growth with turnover up 38%. In recognition of this sparesFinder was 4th fastest growing UK technology company in Deloitte Fast 50 Awards. In September 2004, Kevin Overstall joined the Board.
2003
- With the addition of Masterpiece to the product portfolio and growing demand from customers, the company expanded its sales and support team.
- Our excellence in the marketplace was rewarded by winning the Business Innovation Award from the London Business Link.
2002
- The company expanded into the US targeting the Oil and Gas community in Houston and moved into new categories including Food and Drink.
- The company was a finalist in the prestigious CBI's Growing Business Awards.
2001
- The company continued to prove the value of its concept and attracted a further investment of £2m, which was secured in March 2000 despite a very difficult investment climate. The investment round was led by Close Brothers Corporate Finance, and included further investment by both Elderstreet and ASCO plc.
- Dr. Jonathan Melunsky joined the company as Financial Director.
- A significant product development programme completed in September 2001 resulted in the transfer of the web-site and main database servers from New Zealand, and the introduction of new products and services including Insight.
- The company won its first award - Innovative Business Practice from The Institute of Chemical Engineers.
2000
- A further investment by ASCO plc in early 2000 enabled the company to acquire the New Zealand business and gain full rights to the existing technology.
- At this time, Brian Oxenham transferred to the UK to head up the technology development, and the remainder of 2000 was spent developing existing customer relationships, building emerging communities of users and developing the technology.
1999
- Early in 1999, David Stroud and Jan Hutchings established sparesFinder in the UK and followed a successful strategy to win customers, build partnerships and expand the network of distributors.
- sparesFinder Ltd raised funding from Elderstreet in the summer of 1999, and purchased the remaining global distribution rights.
1998
- VPI's first version was released in June 1998 and was actively marketed across the Southern Hemisphere via a network of distributors, from the New Zealand head office.
1997
- The sparesFinder concept was conceived in New Zealand in 1997 by Brian Oxenham, who developed the idea of automatically linking the end users of engineering spare parts, via the internet.
- A project team was formed, combining skills in maintenance engineering, logistics and IT, to create Virtual Pooled Inventory (VPI).
